We’re hard at work on this year’s Analog Attorney gift guide, but here’s a quick preview: Tablet accessories, like this Remarkable leather sleeve, make great gifts. Full disclosure: Analog Attorney was given a monogrammed DesignersKitCo leather case for review, and Analog Attorney is not giving it back.
In this year’s holiday gift-giving extravaganza, the one where everyone draws a name, the one with a price cap of $35 guaranteeing a stampede of white elephants, I get Laura. Let me tell you about Laura. They’re a killer. Their client list includes a company with more capital than Moldova. They own everything. Wine? They’re a sommelier. Golf? Titleist sponsors them. Books? They got a galley copy six months before it was published. Laura is impossible to shop for.
Except No, They’re Not
The thing about Laura is they went paperless in ’08. When the Remarkable e-ink tablet appeared on the technology must-have scene, they were first in line. They own at least three, and use them for everything, all the time. But you know what they don’t have? A handmade monogrammed leather sleeve for their favorite e-ink tablet!
At around $70, the premium leather sleeve from DesignersKitCo on Etsy is the perfect gift for the paperless professional in your White Elephant slugfest or, you know, just in your life. (OK, a tad over budget, but Laura’s worth it.)

This Remarkable Leather Tablet Sleeve Is Simple
Which means it’s elegant. Which means it’s luxe. Which means it’s perfect for Laura. Which means it’s all the things I’ll tell you about below. Bottom line, the tl;dr deets: this elegant, understated leather sleeve will turn your Remarkable into a Gucci-level dream gadget.
First of all, it’s gorgeous.
Really. Why has it taken so long for someone to make a sleeve this nice? There are cases and holders out there, and add-ons like the keyboard/stand set-up, which is pretty cool, but I’ve had my R2 for two years with a keyboard and haven’t typed a solitary letter. The keyboard is a nice accessory, but it pushes back against the aesthetic and the very purpose of the machine: to replicate the experience of writing by hand. Also, it’s heavy.
The Premium Custom Leather Sleeve weighs less than a strong consideration. And you’ll use it immediately. Because there’s no user friction or set-up tax — just slip it on and boom. Your tablet is beautifully concealed in a lovely leather sleeve with your initials on it. And it’s protected as well. You’d have to run over it with a bulldozer to do any damage. Which is, OK, a wee bit of an overstatement, but seriously, if you drop it, don’t freak out.
What else can we say?
That’s kind of it. It’s dead simple. It’s as complicated as a bag. But I know you’re into data, so here are the dimensions, which I hope aren’t too technical: IT FITS THE THING. And it looks good doing it.
If a Gucci sleeve is maybe too far out of your billing column, then this is the gift for you, and frankly, you should quit buying all that Gucci anyway.
Did We Test It? Yes, We Tested It
This fall, I slipped my Remarkable 2 into a DesignersKitCo sleeve to go get coffee when I was jet-setting through O’Hare, LaGuardia, Bilbao, Frankfurt, and the strangely low-key fashionable corridors of Colorado Springs International Airport. I whipped out my kit in a coffee shop, and someone leaned over and asked me where I got it. I slipped it out on the plane (it was all I carried), and when my seatmate picked it up, I honestly thought she wasn’t going to give it back.
Did we drop it off a table or out the window of a moving car?
You know, like for science? Hell no. We’re not a lab, people. We’re not even we. “We” is me, your humble hagiographer, just trying to back out of the digital overwhelm by any means necessary. If that means happens to travel in a stylish monogrammed leather sleeve, so much the better.
They Make Sleeves for Other Tablet Brands Too
In addition to Remarkable leather sleeves for the Paper Pro and Remarkable 2, DesignersKitCo (which you can find on Etsy here) makes sleeves for Onyx tablets, Supernotes, iPad Pros, Mantas, and Kindle. If you have a tablet, they have a sleeve. Of course, we’re biased over here because here in our house we use the Remarkable 2. And yes, this product is so good we’re putting it in our annual Analog Gift Guide for Attorneys who Analog. It’s just swank.
